Challenge:

A large, challenged, multi-site service provider had with our help appointed a HR Director to champion much needed cultural and organisational change. After a careful assessment of the inherited HR teams capability and capacity; it was recognised that interim support would be required to create and deliver an evangelical employee engagement program to support a wider business transformation exercise.

The brief was to firstly gain buy in from all key stakeholders. The Interim had to firstly qualify business priorities and then formulate and deliver an employee engagement and communication strategy for all UK based employees. A strategy that would significantly improve; candidate attraction, employee retention, internal and external public relations and ensure that the company became an employer of choice.

Method:

As with most interim assignments, time was a significant factor. In order to produce a strong, relevant shortlist in the quickest possible time frame, we recommended leveraging our extensive network of proven professional interim executives whilst running a carefully targeted online advertising campaign in sector specific media. Combining the two, quickly delivered a long list of high caliber candidates, showcasing the breadth and depth of talent available, giving our client the confidence that their ambitious objectives would be achieved.

The Results:

During the 6 month assignment, the Interim HR Transformation Director developed and implemented a business aligned people strategy, embedded a new culture of company values and a people charter, launched the Leadership Programme and introduced a new benefits portal. The Interim also assessed the capability and direction of the wider human resources and recruitment functions. They then implemented a restructure, significantly transforming the delivery and value the business received.
